• What can PRP and PRF help with – and what can’t they?

Radiesse, a biostimulatory injectable made from calcium hydroxylapatite, works deeper to restore volume and support contour while helping rebuild your skin’s structural foundation over time. • What’s the difference between PRP and PRF?

  Both PRP and PRF are natural treatments that use your body's own healing factors, but they differ in processing methods and applications. PRP is processed at a higher speed, creating a concentrated serum rich in platelets and growth factors for more immediate, targeted use. PRF is spun more slowly, preserving more white blood cells and fibrin, which forms a matrix that allows for a slower, sustained release of growth factors. • What is a platelet?

  Platelets are small, cell-like fragments in your blood that play a key role in healing. They’re rich in growth factors that signal your body to repair damaged tissue and support new cell generation. In treatments like PRP and PRF, we isolate and concentrate these platelets to create a solution that can be precisely injected into the skin or scalp, helping to stimulate collagen, enhance skin tone and texture, and promote thicker, healthier hair growth.

• How do you extract PRP and PRF from my blood?

  The process starts with a quick blood draw, just like a routine lab test. Your blood sample is then placed in a medical-grade centrifuge, which spins the blood at a controlled speed to separate its components. For PRP, a faster spin isolates a layer of platelet-rich plasma. For PRF, a slower spin preserves more white blood cells and a fibrin matrix (healing factors), resulting in a thicker concentrate with a slower, sustained release of growth factors. The final product – either PRP or PRF – is then used immediately for your treatment.

• Am I a good candidate for this treatment?

  Many healthy adults are candidates for PRP and PRF treatments. However, these treatments may not be suitable for individuals with certain blood disorders, active infections, or those taking blood-thinning medications. We'll discuss your medical history during your consultation.

• Are PRP and PRF safe?

  PRP and PRF are generally considered safe for most individuals. The equipment used to process your blood and administer the treatment is FDA-cleared, and because these treatments use components of your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or adverse response is significantly reduced. Your provider will review your health history to ensure PRP or PRF is safe and appropriate for you.

• How long do the results last?

  While the visible effects of PRP and PRF treatments typically last around a year, the deeper benefits (like improved cellular turnover and collagen stimulation) can have more lasting impacts on your skin’s health. • What is the downtime?

• Can I get PRP or PRF while pregnant or breastfeeding?

  Even though PRP and PRF use your own blood, these treatments have not been studied in pregnant or breastfeeding individuals. Because your body undergoes hormonal and vascular changes during this time, we recommend waiting until after pregnancy and nursing to begin treatment.
