  • Tiny dark spots and a bronzed tone may appear 1-2 days after your treatment. These are called MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) and are part of the natural healing process. Skin may feel dry or rough like sandpaper as it begins to flake. Do not pick or scratch at the skin, as this can lead to irritation or scarring.

First 24-48 Hours

  • Avoid intense exercise, sweating, and excessive heat (like saunas or hot tubs).

First 3-5 Days

  • Wait until the skin has finished flaking to apply makeup (typically 3-5 days).

First 7 Days

  • Avoid products with active ingredients such as retinol, tretinoin, AHAs/BHAs, or other strong exfoliants for one week. If you’re unsure about a product, check with your Nuey provider in advance.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and sunless tanning for a week following your treatment. If you are exposed to the sun, be sure to reapply SPF 50+ liberally and consider wearing a wide-brimmed hat.

Your Skincare Plan

Return to Your Ritual

  • Gently cleanse twice daily using lukewarm water and a mild, non-active cleanser (e.g. Cetaphil or CeraVe). Pat dry, do not rub or use facial brushes (like Clarasonic).
  • Apply a fragrance-free, non-active moisturizer 2-3 times daily or as needed for hydration.
  • Resume your usual skincare routine once your skin feels smooth, hydrated, and fully recovered, typically around days 7-10, depending on your healing process.

Your safety and comfort are our highest priority. If you experience signs of infection (such as an increase in redness, warmth, itching, or pus formation) or excessive swelling, please contact your nearest Nuey studio immediately.

  • We do not offer Halo treatments during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

  • Depending on treatment depth, pinpoint bleeding may occur, and typically resolves within a few hours.
  • Redness and swelling may worsen, peaking around day 3, and gradually resolving within 5-7 days.

Your Skincare Plan

Return to Your Ritual

  • Apply a fragrance-free, non-active moisturizer 2–3 times daily or as needed for hydration.
  • Once sloughing resolves, apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily for at least 3 months. Apply 20 minutes before sun exposure, reapply every 2 hours outdoors, and use hats or protective clothing to prevent hyperpigmentation and maintain results.
  • Once sloughing has finished and your skin feels smooth, hydrated, and no longer sensitive (typically around days 7-10), gradually reintroduce your normal skincare ritual. Start with every other night and observe how your skin responds.

Your safety and comfort are our highest priority. If you experience signs of infection (such as an increase in redness, warmth, itching, or pus formation), prolonged redness, changes in pigmentation, or scarring, please contact your nearest Nuey studio immediately.
